Farm Shed
I did this simple sketch of the farm shed as an exercise in simple free hand perspective. The stippling technique I used is great for representing stucco on the walls & in the deep shadows of the eaves of the roof. The crisscross line work technique I used is great for representing tall grasses scattered around & about the building. Line work adds texture to the shingles on the roof which can also suggest old buckled weathered shingles & torn worn shingles at the edges of the eaves. Texturing was also used on the end of the building. Scripple lines were used to represent foliage & vertical strokes used for taller distant trees in the background. Always keep in mind the direction of the sun & how it effects the drawing in regards to sun hitting the building and the shadows it produces. I added heavier crisscross lines at the end of the building to show deeper shadows in the grass.
