Polypores on Poplar

Researching names for mushrooms on the internet can be challenging enough because as soon as you find a close match for a particular mushroom your sent off into many different sub families of the same mushroom & it seems to never end. I was inspired to do this piece at our cottage in Muskoka because of the (polypores) mushrooms on the tree. This piece is a perfect example of (imperfect) balance or sometimes called the ͞triangle theory of composition͟. Various washes were used for the sky, tree trunks, forest floor, & rocks. Pen & Ink work (wavy lines) were used on the trunks of the trees. Heavier ink work for the rocks.
